At the Institute for Athletic Medicine, we provide specialized rehabilitation of the upper limb including the hand, wrist, and elbow following injury, disease, or surgery. Our hand therapists work closely with you and your doctor to design a program to help you live life as fully as possible.

  • Complex regional pain syndrome (RSD) 
  • Dupuytren's contracture 
  • Traumatic injury of tendons, ligaments, nerves, joints, and bones 
  • Cumulative trauma disorders such as tendonitis, tenosynovitis, nerve compressions, and pain syndromes

Our certified hand therapists are therapists who have a minimum of three years clinical experience, including at least 4,000 hours in direct practice of hand therapy. In addition, Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) have successfully passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper-quarter rehabilitation. CHTs are required to demonstrate continued professional development and competency by re-certifying every five years.
